“Barrier-Free Communication, Safe Intervention”

Organized by the First and Emergency Aid Program and the First and Emergency Aid Student Community under the coordination of Lecturer Pelin Zıvdır Yeşilyurt within the scope of the Emergency Patient Care II course, a visit was conducted to Tarsus Yinede Sevgi Special Education and Rehabilitation Center as part of the “Barrier-Free Communication, Safe Intervention” event. During the visit, students were informed about the institution’s operational processes and were given the opportunity to observe the physical, mental, and emotional characteristics of individuals with disabilities on site. They also learned the communication and approach principles that should be considered during pre-hospital intervention processes and developed appropriate attitudes toward individuals with special needs. The students expressed their satisfaction to the academic staff and concluded the event positively.
